Bugs:

- rchase, rchasej: Graphic gitches in various sprites. Fortuna (ID 05842)

WIP:

- 0.143u8: Changed 'Unknown' dipswitch to 'Unused'.

- 0.137u2: Dumping Union added Rail Chase (World). ANY redumped IC26 for Rail Chase, added PCB board ID numbers and corrected the rom names. This fixed the ROM check. Renamed (rchase) to (rchasej).

- 25th March 2010: Smitdogg - We redumped the bad rom at IC26 and dumped the World version of Rail Chase.

- 0.127u3: Aaron Giles fixed player's lorry, which doesn't move (Cheat engine problem).

- 0.94u2: Changed 68000 CPU1/2/3 clock speeds to 12.5MHz.

- 0.94: Aaron Giles updated the Sega 'Y-board' driver - Rail Chase is now playable. Added Z80 (4MHz) CPU4, YM2151 (4MHz) and Sega_PCM (15625 Hz) stereo sound. Swapped cpu1/3 roms and fixed dipswitches.

- 0.88u3: Added 'Rail Chase' (Sega 1988). Only the driver file, no video has been ported yet so nothing works.

STORY:

- In pursuit of ancient Inca mystery, Flint and Mary are visiting "Guaramure" a South American village. The two learned of the "Guara Tresure" the town's guardian deity, which contains a supernatural power. However, the tresure has been removed by the "Hearn" syndicate and is no longer to be found in the village. The hero and heroine make their way towards Hearn's evil cave in an effort to recapture the valuable item for the "Guaramure" people.

History

Arcade Video game published 28 years ago:

Rail Chase (c) 1991 Sega.

A lightgun controlled one or two player shooting game, in which the players travel in a minecart through a huge rail network; pursued by a multitude of weapon-carrying enemies. The fast-paced action also features sections in which the player comes across junctions in the track and can chose whether to go left or right - the chosen route usually dictating how many tack obstacles and enemies the player must face - this is achieved by shooting the signposts that are situated in the middle of the points. Some sections also have the player's minecart leave the track entirely and travel over open ground.

- TRIVIA -

Released in June 1991.

Rail Chase is an obvious homage to the legendary minecart section of the movie, 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' and even features a section in which the players are pursued by the ubiquitous 'giant boulder' of the first Indiana Jones movie; 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
