WIP:

- 0.171: Redumped Cat and Mouse graphic rom as the correct size [Vernimark]. Fixed sprite banking. Better approximation of colours, should be pretty close now. Make Zaccaria 1B11142 sound board a device in preparation for netlist sound. Moved Zaccaria 1B11107 board into audio\zaccaria.cpp so it can share common stuff with 1B11142. Yes, I realise Cat and Mouse sounds different, the intermediate mixer seems to have that effect. It will all change again when we get netlist filtering anyway [Vas Crabb]. Added 'Zaccaria 1B11107 Sound Board' sound. Changed M6802 CPU2 clock speed to 3579545 Hz and the 2x AY-3-8910A to 1789772 Hz.

- 8th February 2016: David Haywood - Vas Crabb made some improvements to Cat and Mouse a while back, but in the end we discovered that one of the graphic roms had been dumped as half size. We knew Vernimark owned a PCB of this game, so I got in contact with f205v to ask him if he could double check the ROM and dump it as the correct type. This process took a couple of weeks, but eventually f205v got back to me to tell me that the job had been done. f205v updated his site with the details. Using these details, and a bit of deduction Vas was able to find how the game banks the sprite ROM; on the PCB there's a wire leading around the PCB from one of the pins on the chip at L14 (the graphic rom) which I guess has something to do with it, see the image linked below. In emulation terms, it's an otherwise unused bit of the sound latch. Also note, the position next to the socket is marked for a 2716, which is presumably why the rom ended up being dumped half size, the ROM on the PCB is actually a 2732: http://www.citylan.it/wiki/images/a/ad/174_main_PCB_component_side_detail5.jpg. Vas also improved the colours in the game using the close-up of the resistor network: http://www.citylan.it/wiki/images/c/ca/174_main_PCB_component_side_resistors_detail.jpg. However it is possible one of the values is still slightly wrong because the 3rd resistor down on the left-most column looks like it might hav been repaired/replaced in the past, as Vas noted in the driver "Blue uses 47R and 820R on the PCB we have a photo of, although the 47R resistor looks like it could be a bad repair (opposite orientation and burn marks on PCB)". So if anybody else has a Cat and Mouse to double check that it would be good, the impact of it potentially being wrong is nothing serious, as the value we're using works well, but it would be good to know the original value for sure. Also if anybody has a Cat and Mouse PCB that runs the 'set 2' from MAME then the last program rom on that set still needs redumping, it should also be a 2732, not a 2716, Vernimark was unable to help with that because his PCB is the 'set 1' PCB in MAME. Anyway, here are some screenshots of it running with the improved colours and correct sprites; the old lady with broom sprite was completely missing in the previous graphic roms, as was one of the orientations for the dog.

- 0.169: Fixed Cat and Mouse graphics, inputs and video effects. Added sound support. Laser Battle driver improvements: Decoded PLA bitstream and use for video mixing. Documented colour format and make up usable colour values. Implemented shell and area effects. Use proper video timings. Better layer alignment. Added comments. Fixed inputs, P2 controls and all DIP switches are usable now. Support cocktail configuration (set in Machine Configuration). Fixed conditions for latching sound data. Confirm DIP switches, use derived machine configs. Added stuff from manual [Vas Crabb]. Changed S2650 CPU1 clock speed to 3579545 Hz, visible area to 247x736 and VSync to 50.541416 Hz. Fixed audiocpu rom loading. Added dipswitches 'Infinite Lives', 'Demo Sounds', 'Free Play', 'Difficulty', 'Bonus Life', 'Coin C' and 2x 'Unused'. Added 'Cabinet' configuration.

- 0.150: Added 3x Signetics 2636 sound.

- 0.146u1: Some cleanup [hap].

- 0.136u1: Quench fixed massive slowdown in the Laser Battle driver.

- 0.135u4: Fabio Priuli fixed all sets in drivers using S2636 video chip.

- 0.135u3: Fabio Priuli added driver data struct and save states to Laser Battle driver. Converted Signetics 2636 video chip to be a MAME device and updated drivers using it accordingly.

- 0.133u1: Renamed (catmousa) to (catnmousa).

- 0.122u7: Changed M6802 CPU2 clock speed to 3580000 Hz.

- 0.105u4: Aaron Giles converted PLD for Cat and Mouse to the new binary format. Added pld 82s100.13m ($0).

- 0.103u4: Added new 4k cpu1 rom ($3800) and missing 82S100 prom. Changed visible area to 240x256. Added 'Game Over Melody' dipswitch. Changed clone (set 2) to parent 'Cat and Mouse (set 1)' and 'Cat'N Mouse (set 1)' to clone 'Cat and Mouse (set 2)'. Renamed (catnmous) to (catmousa) and (catmousa) to (catnmous).

- 0.100u3: Pierpaolo Prazzoli added 'Cat'N Mouse (set 1)' (Zaccaria 1982) and clone (set 2).

- 13th May 2005: f205v dumped Cat and Mouse (set 1). Dump is now complete, all previous dumps floating around on the net where partial. Update 20060118: We finally dumped the 82S100 and re-dumped one of the EPROM (it's a 2732 or 2716 )! This is the very same board you can find at "http://www.vernimark.com/arcade/archive/gameinfo.asp?GameID=99"
