WIP:
- 0.175: Added 'Kyuukoukabakugekitai - Dive Bomber Squad (Japan, prototype)' (Konami 1989).
- 30th March 2016: ShouTime - Working on dumping this prototype with the aid of Andy of andys-arcade.com fame who has come over from California to Tokyo. Using an expensive desolder gun station, he was able to cleanly desolder the 4 ROMs stuck in the maze of wires and then socket them as well as put it back together in working condition. Driver work in MAME is also progressing but as this is absolutely unique hardware, it will take a bit of time. All 4 of the spaghetti OTPs have been desoldered, socketed and dumped successfully. Big thanks to Andy for his tireless effort on this. We now have identified 12 PROMs on the board that need the same work performed but are much less hairy.
- 29th March 2016: Smitdogg - Andy Welburn is at Shoutime's place working on dumping the spaghetti wire Dive Bomber Squad PCB (Kyuukoukabakugekitai). I asked Shoutime to look into dumping Hangzo soon too.
- 2nd March 2016: ShouTime - Dive Bomber Squad (AC): Konami's most infamous unreleased title in Japan, this is a vertical oriented shooter much in the vein of other titles of the time that heavily utilizing scaling and rotation like Assault and Metal Hawk. Interestingly enough, the music appears to be placeholder as it is PSG and very much Famicom style.
- 27th February 2016: Smitdogg - This is pretty much the biggest fundraiser we have ever tried in terms of money. Firstly here are the (really interesting) games: Hangzo and Kyuukouka Bakugekitai. Shoutime had to pull the trigger quickly without much thought or else a collector would have gotten them and then they'd never go in mame, and together they cost $13,000. Yeah. So we don't need to cover it all but if we set a realistic(?) goal of 40% (~$5,000) of what he paid then he can dump them and basically take a loss on the rest. So, who can help us?
