WIP:
- 0.169: Angelo Salese fixed BGM regression in Hot Chase.
- 0.168: Angelo Salese implemented sound hand-shake flag for Hot Chase and removed irq hack. Fixes for good gameplay speed in it. Added SOUND-ON and SOUND-RST preliminary mechanisms for WEC Le Mans 24/Hot Chase hardware, fixes hanging sound if entering into service mode for both. Added notes. This fixed game is too slow. You can realize this by checking the in-game chronometer.
- 25th November 2015: Angelo Salese - While fixing some sound related issues in WEC Le Mans 24/Hot Chase HW, I've got across a code snippet that was stealing a lot of cycles in Hot Chase. Turned out that Master CPU was checking for an hand-shake bit from sound CPU after sending a sound command data and an irq request line, and looping to a pretty fat chunk of time until eventually timing out if the default state is '1' (which was default behaviour so far). Fixing that and gameplay speed finally normalized for good.
- 0.164: David Haywood added clone Hot Chase (set 2). Changed parent description to 'Hot Chase (set 1)'.
- 0.154: Clean up Hot Chase [Alex Jackson].
- 0.144u1: Made default paletteram to be white on Hot Chase start-up, fixes ugly MAME default palette to be shown at POST [Angelo Salese].
- 0.142u3: Tentative experiment for Hot Chase gameplay speed. Still not perfect though (especially noticeable with sound). Removed deprecat.h dependancy and updated irqs accordingly for WECLeMan driver [Angelo Salese].
- 0.135u4: Fabio Priuli updated the WEC Le Mans driver to use Konami video devices instead of konamiic.h code.
- 0.129u6: Phil Bennett fixed access violation (debug). Mr. Do added built-in layouts for Hot Chase.
- 0.112u3: Speedfreak, Machone and Brian Troha fixed dipswitches in Hot Chase. Added dipswitches 'Speed Unit' and 'Demo Sounds'.
- 0.96u4: Aaron Giles rewrote vidhrdw\wecleman to make the code more readable.
- 0.84u5: Replaced Stick controller with Paddle.
- 0.78: Removed button 4.
- 0.72u1: Misc improvements, cleanups and fixes to the WECLeMans driver [Acho A. Tang].
- 27th July 2002: Angelo Salese fixed gameplay speeds in Hot Chase and Battle K-Road.
- 0.61: Changed M6809 CPU3 clock speed to 1789772Hz.
- 2nd May 2002: Hiromitsu Shioya fixed a few sound bugs in Hot Chase, and some bugs in the YM2612 and K007232 interfaces.
- 0.60: Acho A. Tang fixed wrong graphics in Hot Chase. Changed palettesize from 2048 to 4096 colors.
- 27th April 2002: Acho A. Tang submitted a major improvement to the WEC Le Mans 24 driver, fixing the colors and fixing a lot of graphics glitches in it and Hot Chase.
- 1st April 2000: Nicola Salmoria updated Hot Chase to use the 051316 functions.
- 0.36b16: Added user1 rom ($0 - function unknown).
- 0.36b7: Sound in Hot Chase [CAB]. Replaced YM-2151 sound with a M6809 CPU3 and 3x Konami 007232 sound. Changed clock speed of the 2x 68000 to 10MHz.
- 8th October 1999: Luca Elia fixed sound in Hot Chase.
- 0.36b4: Luca Elia added 'Hot Chase' (Konami 1988). Known issues: No sound and zoom/rotation. One 32k ROM unused. Incomplete DSWs. No shadow sprites. Sprite ram is not cleared by the game and no sprite list end-marker is written. We cope with that with an hack in the Blitter but there must be a register to do the trick.
- 2nd September 1999: Luca Elia sent in drivers for Wec Le Mans 24 and Hot Chase, but Wec Le Mans is still a bit quirky.

- TRIVIA -
Released in November 1988.
Hot Chase was not particularly successful for Konami, and this is due in part to the host hardware falling short of the ambitious design brief. There's so much happening on screen - particularly in the later levels - that the action can become very jerky and certain sprites often seem to have a mind of their own. It's no surprise that in an age dominated by arcade conversions, Hot Chase wasn't converted to a single home gaming system.
King Records released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Thunder Cross : Konami Kukeiha Club - 276A-7703) on 21/05/1989.
