0.75 [InsideOutBoy]

Artwork available

TODO:

* Discrete audio (like Space Invaders)

WIP:

- 0.172: Removed drivers by insideoutboy due to unresolved licensing (replaced with skeleton containing ROM loading only) [David Haywood].

- 0.168: Guru added PCB layout & ROM locations to Marine Date.

- 0.136u4: Fabio Priuli added driver_data struct and save states to Marine Date.

- 22nd February 2010: Mr. Do - gregf pointed out an auction for a Taito Phoenix bezel, which looked a lot like Rock Climber. After checking through The Arcade Flyer Archive, it seems there quite a few Taito Japan games that used this type of bezel, just with different colors. So, based on the TAFA flyers, there are new bezels for Marine Date.

- 0.131u1: Angelo Salese merged memory maps in Marine Date.

- 0.123u1: Added 'Service Mode' dipswitch.

- 0.105u5: Aaron Giles actually applied the Marine Date fixes which were mentioned in a previous u release. Changed visible area to 224x256.

- 0.105u3: MAME32Plus fixed Marine Date - Game now playable.

- 0.75: InsideOutBoy added 'Marine Date' (Taito 1981). Collisions not emulated and various other issues.

- 13th October 2005: Guru - A Taito Marine Date PCB arrived a few days ago, but is supposed to have a game on it called "Alligator" or something. Thanks to Tingoes.

- 11th October 2003: David Haywood updated InsideOutBoy's old Marine Date driver to compile, but it's not completely working yet.

- 22nd June 2000: Malcor dumped Marine Date by TAITO (1981).

GAMEPLAY:

- A static underwater scence with obstacles in it, like seaweed, crabs and other stuff. You have a limited number of "strokes" per screen as well as a timer to work against. Your goal is to *bounce* yourself around the screen using *Strokes* on the trackball to try to reach a *female* octopus before your run out of strokes or time. You sort of bounce yourself around the screen like a billiard ball would bounce, but once in a while bubbles and other stuff will come up from underneath you and carry you away from where you are trying to get. When you reach your goal you get another more difficult screen, etc.
