WIP:

- 10th January 2016: Smitdogg - Andy Welburn is working on research to be able to dump the Atari Quiz Show tapes.

- 0.155: hap added Quiz Show 2nd chr prom from Atari's source archive, may have some bad bits.

- 24th January 2014: Smitdogg - Thanks to recent donations we got the tapes for Kee/Atari's Quiz Show. Andy Welburn is going to dump them for us later this year (we got the original version and Rev.A) and he also has some board sets of it so he is going to dump the missing chip so the driver can be completed.

- 0.151: Siftware dumped one of the gfx proms, the other one was wounded in action.

- 0.145u6: hap and Siftware added 'Quiz Show' (Atari 1976). hap added sound, color overlay and resized tiles from 8*8 to 8*12+offset. Added DAC sound and mono Speaker.

History

Arcade Video game published 43 years ago:

Quiz Show (c) 1976 Kee Games.

Say The Secret Word and Win... Quiz Show asks 250 different questions in each category. Players can select 'sports', 'general knowledge', 'movies' or 'people'. Each question displays four possible answers which appear in different colors. Hit the colored button on the control console that corresponds to the correct 'answer' color on the monitor, the contestant scores. High for a fast answer, low if it's a head-scratcher. Player can test him or herself, or challenge a partner for highest score.

- TRIVIA -

Quiz Show is believed to be the first game to utilise the now well-known 'arcade font' (formerly thought to have been first introduced with Sprint 2 or Cannonball, but Quiz Show predates these two games by six months). This font is likely to have been designed by Lyle Rains and has since been used by many non-Atari games manufacturers including Namco, Irem, Nichibutsu, and Nintendo.

As you can see in the description, Quiz Show contains a total of 1000 questions and 4000 possible answers.
