WIP:
- 0.148u2: Angelo Salese fixed regression with Shienryu (machine\smpc.c).
- 0.136: Added eeprom-shienryu.bin EEPROM.
- 0.133u1: Angelo Salese fixed Shienryu allows coins but that's it.
- 26th July 2008: Mr. Do - Funny story. Tormod sent me a BUNCH of instruction cards a long time ago. You've probably been seeing them added in every so often. Well, around July of last year, I had completed a whole bunch of them, but then had a computer crash, and they ended up on the "spare" hard drive by mistake. I found them again going through a cleanup. So thanks to Tormod, this week we have Shienryu.
- 0.99u3: Mariusz Wojcieszek added VDP2 opaque alpha blended bitmaps. This fixes missing gfx in Shienryu intro.
- 0.91u2: Started to add default EEPROMs for the various games, for now I've hooked up the one in Shienryu to let it run already with Vertical Switch [Angelo Salese].
- 0.90u2: Changed description to 'Shienryu (JUET 961226 V1.000)'.
- 0.82u1: Mariusz Wojcieszek improved sprites alpha blending. This improves Ejihon Tantei Jimusyo and Shienryu intro.
- 31st March 2004: Mariusz Wojcieszek sent in an update to the ST-V driver, adding support for the end code feature in VDP1 which improved sprites in Columns '97, Ejihon Tantei Jimusyo, Shienryu and fixing some bugs in the SCU DSP emulation.
- 0.78u5: Mariusz Wojcieszek fixed some bad colours in Shienryu.
- 16th January 2004: Mariusz Wojcieszek improved the ST-V driver sprite color calculation, fixing problems with Shienryu sprite colors and Winter Heat character selection screen.
- 0.78u4: Mariusz Wojcieszek added alpha blending, see Shienryu clouds.
- 0.76u1: Ported ElSemi's SCSP core, this gives preliminary sound in the ST-V games, however at the moment most of them play static, Shienryu is mostly correct [R. Belmont].
- 0.76: Changed Shienryu to IMPERFECT_GFX instead of NOT_WORKING as it seems ok, just the sprites are black. Changed screen orientation to vertical.
- 16th October 2003: David Haywood fixed a DMA problem in the SH-2 CPU core that caused broken tile graphics in Shienryu, so Shienryu is now mostly playable although some sprite colors are off.
- 0.74u2: Added Shienryu (Warashi 1997).
- 0.74u1: Various SH2 fixes improving master/slave support, this improves Shienryu on ST-V but its not yet playable due to incomplete ST-V emulation) [Olivier Galibert].
- 0.63: Added (Testdriver) Shienryu.

- TRIVIA -
Shienryu was released in December 1996.
Shi en ryuu translates as 'Purple flame dragon'.
The 1st boss design and combat environment in this game is clearly inspired by the 1st boss of "Daioh", a 1993 shoot-em-up produced by about the same staff. Also, the 3rd boss is clearly inspired by the 3rd boss in "Daioh". Perhaps more inspirations to find? (The main reason is that this game is actually produced by Daioh's staff).
The game forbids the initials 'SEX' on the high score table. If you try, it gets changed to 'ISH'.
