Bugs:

- Clone a51mxr3k: When doing the disk check, the throughput seems locked at 3999KB/sec... which is slow compared to the real thing. Reznor007 / Luigi30 (ID 00397)

WIP:

- 7th December 2009: Mr. Do - Here is Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo artwork that I had completed some time ago, but never got around to adding them in.

- 0.75u1: Aaron Giles fixed the CPU speedup in Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo R3000 version, and fixed the timer problems for good (hopefully).

- 0.71u2: Brian Troha added clone Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo (R3000). Speed hack needs doing.

- 0.71: Changed description to 'Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo v2.0'.

- 0.68: Aaron Giles added 'Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo' (Atari 1998).

- 9th July 2003: Brian Troha added the R3000 version of Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo.

- 29th January 2003: Aaron Giles added Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo to the Cojag driver (your HDDs are obsolete now) and fixed the reset problems.

- 9th November 2002: Guru - Dumped Area 51 / Maximum Force Duo (Atari 1998). Thanks to Tony for the loan of the machine.

History

Arcade Video game kit published 21 years ago:

Area 51 + Maximum Force DUO Kit (c) 1998 Atari Games Corp.

This is the same game as the original "Area 51" and "Maximum Force" games, with the addition of a single credit 'Tournament' mode for "Maximum Force" and new/additional secret areas in both games.

- TECHNICAL -

Atari Cojag hardware

Players : 2
Control : lightgun
Buttons : 1

- TRIVIA -

The DUO Kit was released in February 1998.

Area 51 video was recoded using the Maximum Force system, so Kronn Hunter mode no longer works properly (this is an example of an undocumented 'feature').

An Area 51 / Maximum Force DUO machine was shown at the 2004 classic arcade games show 'California Extreme' in San Jose, California.
